Barb - 10 Year Survivor

Barb hasn't posted since 5/14/11. I was looking through her old posts to add her data to my database and noticed that she listed her blog as:

Checking her blog (last post 2/14/13), I found that Barb is still kicking this disease in the butt. She was first diagnosed in Nov 2002 and had her first surgery on 2/3/2003, making her a 10 year survivor and one of the foundation's longest survivors.

Stephenson Brothers, both with CC

The following website is a tribute to brothers David and Danny Stephenson (Mybro'sSis posted in 2006), who both died of cc in 2006, 50 days apart. I believe both their cholangiocarinomas were extrahepatic and had spread to the pancreas.

I also started a new blog, really just for me and a couple close friends who might want to know how I am really doing. I have no expectations for anyone to read it but I wanted to write to capture how I am feeling and coping throughout this journey. My mother was diagnosed 1 month and 4 days ago and I am already learning so much about cancer, about nutrition, about myself, about my friends and family and support system. I recently started a blog for the purpose of venting and getting all my emotions and grief out there through words. I guess it's a little bit depressing so far but I intend to keep a real raw diary of how the kids and I are coping in these early days without my husband, their Dad.

This may or not speak directly of my CC. It was actually started to show how I train for a Mini Marathon next May in conjunction with the activity during the month of May in Indy for the Indy 500 mile race. Well, I had a detour in my life and although there is still time and I'm thinking about it, just can't get my body into running gear and out the front door.

A couple of weeks ago I just made up a story.....hahaha.

It is basically a place that is easy for me to provide updates on changing conditions of the battle against CC, and other various things to my family and friends around the United States. Feel free to visit, it will not offend anyone, it is " G " rated.
