I have many unused medical supplies that I had for Tom.  Since he has passed on - I do not want to throw out all the supplies.

How about a "Medical Supplies" area where people could post their unused medical supplies - either for free or to sell them - Since many insurance companies may not allow or limit the amount a person can get in a month...people may be willing to purchase them through a private party at little or no cost.

I have tons of gauze pads, tegaderm films, insulin pen needles, insulin syringes, gloves, etc that I could post on such a topic and there may be others that have such things that they either need or want.

and I cannot wait for the polling ability that you had mentioned earlier for this new version of update.

Lately so many new members appeared on this board and many of our old member passed away. If we can have that ability of polling and doing survey
among  patients as well as caregivers. It will be of tremendous value not only to the people who view our web site but it will provide more useful information to future research too.
BTW, can we have the ability,let say,put in a month like November in, and find out how many(the number of)  new registered people that month?

Not a suggestion, but a comment.  I just logged on and noticed the CC tree with blinking lights, snow, and I think I saw Santa and his reindeer!! Thanks for always surprising us with your wonderful designs. I really appreciate it.

They're coming in to post a link (or links) and some quick references to their site in order for Google, Yahoo and Bing to rank them higher in internet searches. 

I hate it.  I call them out on Twitter, and I've even written the companies that are hiring these unethical "SEO" Companies.  I've hard-coded lines of programming into our message boards so that links won't be followed by search engines.  No matter what I do, it doesn't work.

We're getting about 10 new registrations per day, usually 9 of them are bogus.  On the weekends, the numbers double and even triple that and nearly all of them are bogus. 

For the last couple weeks, I've actually been closing our site to new registrations overnight.  It's worked for the most part, but they still sneak in during the day.

I'd like to require new registrations to be approved by an actual person before they can post on our site.  We'll catch 98% of spammers this way.  It will lead to less spam, better search results for us and maybe even the comeback of the unicorn.  (ok, maybe not unicorns, but more rainbows?  you bet.) 

The down side?  It may delay registration by as little as a few minutes and up to a few hours.  Many other forums have gone this route, and it might just be our solution.

What do you think?  Would this delay negatively affect new registrants, to the point where they don't even bother to register?

P.S. While I was actually typing this, two spammers registered.  Full Lace Wigs and Goose Down Jackets.  It's getting ridiculous.

1. Expand "chemotherapy" on that experience forum ,put it first on the list as "Systemic treatment options "---chemo therapy ,molecularly Tagareted therapy,immunological therapy and others " to reflect the current progress of treatment plans available.

2.Move the Radiation to 2nd place on the forum  to reflect the importance of it and change the entry to "Radiation Treatments and options" to reflect Radiation is a viable and important treatment option for CC.

3. Combine "resection and transplant"and change to"Surgery,Resection and Transplant Treatment options" into one entry  and put it as #3 on the list because all use  the surgical technique as the means to achieve their goal.

4. Change the "side effects" to "Adverse Reactions and Side Effects" to reflect other problems that is not related to medications only(ie: stents dislocation; problems caused by disease state. eg. ascites  and infections etc.)

4. Change  the "alternative treatment" to "complementary and alternative treatment-CAM" to reflect the up to-date  usage for discussion of the topic.

5.Create a new entry like"  Bits and Pieces of Information "to share and update  about cholangiocarcinoma." ---  a few lines  of information( small entries) that we can enter and share without long entry after research.

I had an idea that perhaps would help in getting our message across to a lot of people, even if it was only for a day or so. I'm sure that everyone here uses Google every day, I know I use it a lot each day. And if you do use Google then I'm sure also that you know that Google sometimes changes it's homepage to tie in with celebratory days such as Christmas, St Patricks day and days that are importnat in each country as well, such as St Andrews day here in Scotland. And I think I remember Google putting the pink ribbon on it's homepage during breast cancer awareness month. So I was thinking that it would be great if Google could put something on their search page to help with CC awareness month, even if only for a day as I think that if they could do that then a lot of Google users worldwide would wonder what the logo represented and it would generate some interest in those who had not heard of CC? Was just a thought I had, what do others think?
