Chris, and I am a fan of your soldier son. Where ever I am, and I see a "kid" in uniform, I always go up to them and say, "Thank-you". The smile I get in return is worth a thousand words!

Chris, the greatest football coach ever, Vince Lombardy said, "Winning isn't everything; it's the only thing". I just kind of change it and use the word attitude. But it is oh, so true. Teddy, being from Wisconsin and a season ticket holder for the Packer's, is I am sure, sitting between Vince and Elizabeth Taylor, whom he loved!

I think having a positive attitude and being able to laugh, even in the face of adversity are the best tools we can have in our arsenal.

Cancer is not funny but there are some days all you can do is laugh! It really keeps me from going totally insane some days!

Glad to hear things are moving in the right direction for your Mom, Christine.

Oh, Chris, I so agree with you. I had Teddy in Home Hospice for 4 months and the last 4 days I took him to a Hospice Facility. Even when we were checking in to the facility he was joking! I couldn't believe it. And yes, he was very alert. I always feel, whqat ever gets one through and works for them. Maybe one day you and I can take our show on the road!

Lainy one thing I have learned from my lung cancer people is that a positive attitude and a sense of humor are absolutely necessary to get through this cancer stuff. And yes mine is a bit off the wall

I try to make Mom laugh as much as possible and although there are days she would much rather strangle me, for the most part it works!!

Oh potty mouths!! SN*W is a 4 letter word LOL.

Last year the day before Halloween here in the beautiful Berkshires of Massachusetts, I had TWENTY NINE INCHES of SN*W!! It was unbelievable!

Latest on the storm is sounding more and more ominous. I am the Chairperson of the Family Readiness Group for my son's National Guard unit and got an email earlier from the guard support about Hurricane Preparedness encouraging us to be ready. I am as ready as I can be, just hoping and praying we do not get hit badly.

Ha Momma! Yep, you got it! It is cold, white and is a pain in the backside when having to walk in it! And also, when having to scrape your car to get it off in the morning it makes your fingers very cold indeed! But hey, scraping the snow off the car in the morning sure wakes you up if you're still a bit dozy!

Hi Christine,

Thanks for letting us know how your mums app went today with the doctor and I am glad to hear that it went well. Also glad to hear that you both are happy with and like the doctor too, I found that important to both myself and my dad when he went through this. After all, if we are not comfortable with and don't believe in the doctors that are treating us or our loved ones then thats not a good start in my book!

Glad that the doc is sticking with the plastic stents instead of the metal ones right now as that is better. As to what you say about the "sort of" that you posted, that makes sense to me. Finish this chemo and then see where your mum goes from there.

Hope that the storm doesn't hit you guys too bad, been following it on the news here. And certainly hope that it doesn't stop you and your mum from getting to the docs next Wednesday! Glad you've got everything tied down, stay safe!! As to weather, we have our first blast of snow today in Scotland. But hey, thats not so bad for us.......considering that this is our last weekend of so called "summer time" with regards to our clocks changing!!! Brrrrr..............

LOL No I am not on the coast but I am in the Berkshires and we are supposed to be hit pretty hard! I am pretty much set for it though, got things all tied down and secured!

Christine it all makes sense, you done good! Teddy had plastic stents for 5 years. They didn't want to do metal on him either. He just got used to having them changed. Are you on the Coast? Gee, it is so boring in Phoenix. NEVER a hurricane, tornado, eathquake and not much rain at all. Please let us know how you "weather" the storm. We can't have you washed away now that we have met!!! BTW thanks for the great updates on your Mom.
