Thank you to all. It's been a roller coaster. Can't believe I'm here again. When my momma was sick we had no idea what CC was. Hopefully this will be the last time we deal with it Merry Christmas to you all!!

dedicated....Folic acid is a water-soluble B vitamin Folic acid often used in combination with other B vitamins. It also is used to prevent anemia (low red blood cell levels.) Often time’s chemo is halted due to low blood counts and then resumed when blood levels have risen to an acceptable level. I assume that your brother has a low red blood cell count; hence the physician ordered the folic acid and other B-vitamins. He may soon feel less fatigued also and may very well be ready for his next treatment.
I hope for others to chime in and share their thoughts with us also.
In the meantime though, I wish for a relaxed holiday season for your brother, his family, and for you. Hang in there, dear Dedicated and know that tons of support is heading your way.
Hugs and love
Marion

Teddy was on B12 injections and that was to get his energy level up and it worked great for him. Folic acid is also from the B family. Sounds like the ONC is just trying to build up your brother's system again and would probably start chemo when his LABS are more normal. Chemo like Radiation keeps on working a while even after you have gone off of it. I would say for now, try and have a wonderful holiday and see what the ONC has in mind after your brother's next visit.

Hi everyone. First of all Thank you all for responding and supporting me through this difficult time. Happy holidays to all of you!!! My brother went to his oncologist today. He was supposed to get chemo however his blood counts are too low. I'm so confused. He hasn't had chemo since 11-20. It doesn't make any sense. He's so disappointed which in turn breaks my heart.
I'm so nervous cause I know what could happen without chemo. The doctor prescribed some meds frolic acid and B-12. Does anyone know what this mean?? Does this mean that he won't get chemo anymore ever???
