I haven't been on this site for quite some time and decided to read post today...but I thought I would say a word or two...
HOPE, is what can't be taken away. Think about positive things and don't feel that if you feel 'sad' you are giving up. As long as you have life, there is HOPE and that is indeed good news.

December 31st is fast approaching. My oh my, 2 years with my dad.....unbelievable. It seem as yesterday, I was making doctors appointments, going to get foods I thought he would like, visiting him....LIFE, just passed by so swiftly. "Memories" are just so wonderful to hold on to...(Just 'rambling' on with things thats on my mind now.....) May not make too much sense in writing as my mind is just wondering- If only my dad was still around....I would have hugged more, kissed more and just spoiled him more........I really miss saying "Daddy" or "Hello Cutie"...and he would say.."Sure....).... "Daddy".... If I could have gotten one more hug........

As I read you post today, it took me back to Dec 31, 2007 when my wonderful father took his last breathe. Your father was surronded by those that loved him dearly, that was important.
Take care of yourself and keep the memories of your dad, that will not go away and it will keep you going.

I am sorry to read about your mother. I lost my father David Cook, Dec 30, 2007 and it seem like yesterday...Its not easy losing someone close to us. I am barely getting over the shock of the loss. I feel so sad more often than happy BUT what is helping me cope are fond memories and knowing my father would not want me to be overly sad.
Your mother's wonderful memories will sustan you....

I'm Charlene Eloi (celoi) from Houston, TX.
Caregiver to my WONDERFUL FATHER DAVID COOK for 2 'scary' years beofere he passed away 9/30/2007..I am an only biologioal child of both parents.
His journey with CC was very, well, I can hardly describe my emotions and feelings while I tried to find a cure. I am holding on to wonderful memories and enlightening conversation with my dad. He loved me so, so much. Nothing can take that away.
Diagnosed June 21st 2006
nonoperable 2006
started CAAT Controlled Amino Acid for about 6 month
thereafter Xeloda/Gemzar
developed 'unknown' infection
passed away from kidney failure????
What a mixed up diseased?????????????????????
The help & support of the great people here are helping me to cope as I know I am not alone and everyone here understand.
