Sorry to hear of your Dad's diagnosis. I lost my Dad to Cholangiocarcinoma a week before Thanksgiving and only two weeks after getting the bad news. We were able to get in touch, and a second opinion from Dr. Michel Kahaleh from the University of Virginia. He specializes in spyglass lasar therapy. I don't know if it is the same as Photodynamic therapy. He is worth contacting as he welcomed looking at my Dad's file, CT's and records and got back to us within 24 hours. He was wonderful. Unfortunately for us my Dad was not a candidate. Perhaps your Father will fair better. All the best. God Bless. Don't give up.
Thank you all for your kind comforting words. They are more meaningful coming from those of you you have had similar experiences. God bless.
My thought and prayers are with you and Marc. My dear Dad died from bile duct cancer that spread to the liver. He too was late in presenting symptoms. We did contact a world renowned specialist at the University of Virginia. He uses photodynamic therapy in treating the cancer. He was wonderful in speaking to us. It may be an option for you. Google him.
Also, keep the faith. Prayers do work.
Hello. This is my first visit. I was so astonished that my Dad died one month after an MRI showed a mass on his liver. He was diagnosed with cholangiocarcinoma that spread to his liver. He became so weak so quickly. There was nothing anyone could do. I know he had been complaining for about two months of pain in his right side. He was 80 robust and full of life. We miss him terribly. If someone could shed some light on this I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you. Sincerely, Susanne.
