A new discussion board experience is coming this September!
After 10 years, we're upgrading our discussion board to a new modern system. The new forum will be easier to use, mobile-friendly and loaded with new features! We'll be taking all of the existing posts and users over to the new board, you won't have to do anything. If you have any questions, we've started a thread here to discuss.

I recently had my first CT scan after chemo. Everything is stable. No new spread or mets but no shrinkage. I guess this is a victory of sorts. Still undergoing the clinical meds and gemzar.
when i went for chemo this week i was told no trial drugs this week due to low blood counts. still got gemzar at 75%. put on levaquin for a week. ran a fever thursday so i left school early. it's funny how your priorities change....the school can run without me!
so far no side effects from the chemo. occasional nausea that passes quickly. I keep compazine with me all the time and crackers! I have found if I go too long without food, the nausea hits. I haven't been told what stage I am in....based on what I've read it is probably Stage IIB. Haven't asked...not sure if I want to know right now. I have not heard the drs put a timeline on my prognosis...again haven't asked. I know at some point I will need to know these things but I think I will wait until I have another scan to see if shrinkage has occured.
I am an 8th grade special education teacher from Tennessee. Currently undergoing treatment at Sarah Cannon Research Institute in Nashville, TN. I am in the clinical trials for ARQ 197 phase I. I take 6 pills a day and am also undergoing weekly treatments with Gemzar.
it is great to have a site to go to and know that everyone will understand my questions and fears as well as a little dose of anger. I try to keep my emotions in check and remain positive but sometimes it is hard.
recently diagnosed with CC. i went to the dr. in mid dec. due to itchy skin. My bloodwork showed elevated liver enzymes. 3 days later I am at the gastr. scheduling an ERCP. Had stent put in and itching subsided. on to surgeon. Laproscopic surgery revealed a 21mm mass in the gall bladder and a small spot on the liver that was removed. now undergoing clinicl trials. I am 52 years old and just had my 2nd grandson 2 weeks ago. I want to be around to watch them play ball and dance at their wedding!
