thanks everyone for your kind words.. I feel some comfort in making a connection with others who have had similar experiences in their life.. I wish I had come across this website and forum a couple of years back when my father was originally diagnosed with this condition...
tiapatty, we were giving our dad some homepathy medicines for his CC as well.. Again its tough to say whether it worked on him or not..
Codergirl, Sorry about your loss. As someone who lost his dad just a month ago to CC, i can feel your pain and the sorrow.. Time is the healer and think that your mom is at peace now... my thoughts are prayers are with you..
My Dad was diagnosed with CC back in December 2008. He also had Hep-C Virus that had badly cirrhated his liver. We tried the ribavarin and interferon treatment for Hep-C that completely brought him down.. They placed plastic stents in his bile duct in Jan 09 and again in April 09.. He would do fine and then slowly will start developing itching and jaundice etc.. Again in Sep'09 he had hepatic encelapathy and they put a metal stent.. He was fine for about 9-10 months and once again the problems started with sudden chills and vomitting.. Finally this time in December 2010, they told us that the tumor had spread to the liver and they were finding a passage to put stents on both the left duct and the right duct.. They actually placed the stents on the ducts but within hours of the procedure, his stomach got bloated and he started gasping for breath aand started vomitting blood.. Doctors said this is probably the end and he passed away after a struggle for about 4-5 hours on December 11th.. This was all done in Hindhuja hospital in Mumbai, India.. After going thru the different forums here, I feel may be if he were in the US or any of the western countries, he could have lived a bit longer.. He had his gall bladder removed in 2002 in the same hospital and I'm not sure if the CC was a result of strictures during gall bladder removal....
