Praying this is not a recurrence but if it is there are so many treatment options. I have had five recurrences and we just plug along and consider it a chronic disease.

Hello
Ivy port has been in over four years and the last time it was accessed the nurse missed and I got a huge bruise. The area was swollen and  tender for awhile so my doctor ordered a n X-ray of the area and everything looked good but the pain persisted.  My doctor ordered to have it removed. The port removal took place yesterday and the procedure was over an hour. I am in terrible  pain today and had to call for pain medicine.  Everything I read  says the removal is a piece of cake and takes about twenty minutes. Has anyone else had sever pain after a port removal???

Five years ago today my life changed forever when I was diagnosed with stage IV CC. Cancer has taught me that every day is a gift and to celebrate the little things in life. Cheers to a compassionate and brilliant medical team, a loving and supportive family and amazing friends. This is the first place  I visited when diagnosed and I am so thankful for this amazing organization. And the beautiful people on this board.

I have a dear friend with CHOLANGIOCARCINOMA who is currently being treated with chemotherapy in hopes of shrinking the tumor. She had Foundation One evaluate her tumor sample and she has the BRAF mutation. There is a women in Pennsylvania that is taking the drugs for melanoma and having good results. The BRAF mutation is also found in melanoma patients.  My friend would love to connect with this 47 year old woman who lives in Pennsylvania. I am hoping through this post maybe we will find this woman.
Thank you for your help

I have been having a lot of tenderness in the liver area so I have been worried like crazy. My oncologist moved up my scans and bloodwork. This was the first time I was going six months between scans. I am feeling blessed to report my scans were clear and  my blood work and tumor markers were normal range.
