Hernia surgery tomorrow
By David Craine — 4 hours ago

Lisa is pleased to be having her two hernias repaired tomorrow at 8:15 am at The Cleveland Clinic by Dr. John Fung and Dr. Charles Winan. This will be the third time her incision has been opened, so she is a little apprehensive. Please keep her in your prayers tomorrow that there are no complications and that the surgery goes as planned and please pray for her surgeons. Lisa has gone 15 months with no new cancer; which is a miracle and a blessing from all of your continued prayers and God's Divine Intervention. Our whole family is so grateful. I will post an update after surgery, they are estimating 3-4 hours.
Peace
David

Hi Carla
Welcome to our wonderful family. A second opinion is a must, the sooner the better. I would make sure that your second opinion is with a multidisciplinary approach; also make sure the group of doctors has treated CC before. The sooner you feel confident about your treatment plan the sooner you will be able to breathe. Please call me anytime if you want to talk.

Roxanne,
Welcome. I am so sorry to read about your journey so far, but I am happy that you have found a solid second opinion. I will be praying you get the approval for surgery at USC ASAP.

Hi,
I have been on Gemzar in combination with Cisplatin and with Oxiliplatin and tolerated both pretty well. I was fatigued, a little nauseated and achy(flu like) for a couple days after infusion but I still was able to complete my normal routine after the second day. Congrats on successful surgery!

Kris,
I have had steriotactic radiation three times and each time my tumor markers increased dramatically and stayed elevated. My radiologist does not like to run the tumor markers till atleast 10 weeks after completing treatment. I went from 400 to 1300 right after radiation then it went back to normal range.
Lisa

Dearest Percy,
I am so sad to read that you have been in pain and getting no sleep. I pray that God gives you some rest and relief from your pain. You are such a dedicated advocate for CC and your research and help is wonderful. Thank you for always answering my questions and taking the time to explain them in terms I can understand.
Sending continued prayers of healing and peace.
Love
Lisa

I hate that you were treated poorly by your doctor, shame on her! I am happy to read that surgery was successful and will be praying for healing and recovery.

I have been following their story on FB and it is so heart breaking. Do they know about this site? We could be a good support system for the family. Praying for them daily.

Renee Brink from New Jersey passed away last week from CC. I know some of our members knew her so I wanted to share the news of her passing. She was such a beautiful friend, positive influence and a joy to have known. Please keep her husband John in your thoughts and prayers.
Peace

Great news Helen! I would battle for scans every six months and maybe blood work a little more often.
