I was diagnosed with CC at the beginning of the year, with a poor prognosis for recovery until I had the good fortune to meet a surgeon who was prepared to undertake difficult surgery to remove the tumour. One month after surgery I am almost back to normal and subsequent scans showed that the surgery has been successful. I am now going to receive a course of chemotherapy to ensure that all traces of malignant cells are removed and am looking forward to leading a normal life in the future. I am very grateful to the surgeon and his team, who are based at the Royal Marsden Hospital in London, for carrying out this procedure, which has given me a new lease of life.
