A new discussion board experience is coming this September!
After 10 years, we're upgrading our discussion board to a new modern system. The new forum will be easier to use, mobile-friendly and loaded with new features! We'll be taking all of the existing posts and users over to the new board, you won't have to do anything. If you have any questions, we've started a thread here to discuss.

I, too, have bouts of ascites. To relieve the pressure in my abdomen from the fluid build-up, I have gone through 2 "therapeutic" paracentesis procedures (1st one removed 5.4L and 2nd one removed 6.0L). Although the procedures caused stomach pain, the pain went away as my body re-adjusted back to its semi-normal state, dropped 11 and 13 lbs., respectively, and don't feel the constant pressure. My weight has now remained constant from the 2nd procedure done on 12/07/12 so I'm remaining hopeful that it continues to do so!
Many thoughts and prayers to your dad and you, Smferlita!
I'm a new member after being diagnosed with cholangiocarcinoma with metastasis to my liver, lung, peritoneal lymph nodes, and abdomen in Oct. 2012. I'm looking forward to reading experiences of others with this horrible disease, as well as participating and sharing mine. I appreciate all of the support of others.
