Topic: TEDDY'S HOME

T came home Thursday night and all plumbing is working well. Too well but that will "bottom" out! Now we can concentrate on the Cancer.  The past 14 Christmas's (length of marriage) he built Christmas villages that grew to 8' X 5'.  He can no longer do that so  this year he is going to do a mini-village. We decided to go looking today for pieces to start the mini village. This reminded me of an early marriage story which I think will bring a chuckle to your heart. T is Catholic I am Jewish. I NEVER celebrated Christmas. We were married in July and in November he asked me if I would mind a Christmas Tree. I said no, to me its a beautiful thing. So, we go shopping and come home with a tree, ornaments and the beginnings of a village. We were living in a high rise downtown Milwaukee and once we loaded the elevator no one else could get in. Half way up to the apartment he turns to me and says, "boy, am I glad you are Jewish!" I said why is that? He says, 'cause if anything happens to our marriage, this time I get to keep all this stuff!".  Guess you had to be there but hope it made you grin!

Re: TEDDY'S HOME

Lainy,  Ha! Mr. T is something else.  Love his natural sense of humor.  It's so real.  So he is going to build small villages hey?  Is it like a Christmas season scene with all the things you would see during Christmas?  Do they include Mr. Scrooge or the Grinch? Ha!  I love little wood projects.  I too use to build big decorational things like complete decorated trees, wreaths, and mangers.  I built a small manger last year, to hold the complete Nativity scene with a little light inside shinning over the whole scene.
Glad your at home and doing well!  Is it the cyberknife next ?

Cheerios,
Jeff

Re: TEDDY'S HOME

Hi Jeff, the scene had a downtown, river (iced over)  with skaters and boats, churches and 1 Temple, drive in restaurant and hotels. Also an area with a bakery, candy store, toy shop and produce company. Most of the figurines represented things to us. It was a small town. And a train circling the town. It was set up on a huge piece of wood  5 x 8 and the town was also in layers. The background was styrafoam mountains and the blue paper on the back of the styrafoam sheets was the sky.  There was also a Santa flying overhead, a skating rink that played carols and a Merry go round. Oh and a ballroom with dancers. We have had an Open House every December for about 80 people. T would make calamari marinara and italian sausage and I would do the rest. But that is over too. We gave the whole village to T daughter in Calif. who will distribute parts to the grand kids. So, now we start all over micro-mini style. Glad to see you on-line!!!

Wow!  That sounded like quite a fun project!  and the food part do I have to say anymore?  Yes, Yummy!  I bet the minature village will look just as smart with just as much meaning.  They say good things come in little packages.  Yes I'm getting back on line a little more.  Felt great this week, knock on wood, it'll stay that way for a while.  I do have to cut back on computer time a little bit though, as it has been causing some discomfort.  Have fun shopping for the village today.

Re: TEDDY'S HOME

Lainy,  So happy to hear your good news.  You and Teddy deserve it for all the support you spread to others.  3 cheers for you both.  or shall I say  Mazol Tov!  (sp?)

I'm Catholic who had a Jewish best friend.  I used to think it was great to celebrate both old and new testaments.  I still do.  Of course there was the time I wanted to move to Israel and live in a kibbutz...but that is a whole other story...LOL.

It sounds as though you and Teddy have a great life together.  I'm so happy for you both.

'Shalom',
Jolene

Hi Jolene!  You get an A for effort. It's Mazel Tov. I always say, we are all going to the same place, we are just taking different paths to get there!

Re: TEDDY'S HOME

Lainy, I love to hear your stories about you and Teddy.  You are such a great couple.  I'm also Catholic, and remember you and all my friends here on the cc board in my daily Rosary.

I'm also looking forward to Christmas again this year.  Each and every holiday and birthday that we celebrate is more and more meaningful because we can celebrate together as a family.
