Topic: ASCO 2009

There is another upcoming event for the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation.  We will be attending and occupying a booth at the
2009 ASCO Annual Meeting
May 29 - June 2, 2009
Orlando, Florida
Orange County Convention Center

The SSO conference in Phoenix was a success due to the kindness and willingness of Teddy, Lainy, and David in helping our Foundation to reach out to the medical community. 
The 2009 ASCO Annual Meeting will be a forum for cutting-edge scientific and educational developments in oncology with a focus on personalizing cancer care and has an attendance of 30 to 40 thousand physicians and researchers from all over the world.

If anyone living in the Orlando area and is willing and interested in joining Stacie and I at this conference please, contact me at: marion.schwartz@cholangiocarcinoma.org.

With your help so much more can be accomplished.  A Chicago Conference (Digestive Week) would also be pertaining to our cancer and I would love to be able to attend both although, the dates overlap.  There is a possibility for us to accomplish this if we can staff a booth at either event

I'd love to go and help out if I could.

Hey y'all - airfare and hotels in Orlando are cheap!  I found a package from Seattle for $446.  This includes 6 nights at a hotel.

Maybe I can figure out a way to go and help out.

Lisa.....Of course, the Conference Center is at Disneyworld so transportation would be a problem if staying in a Hotel downtown Orlando.  But, I appreciate your response and this might be the way we need to go.  I would love to share this event with you.  I will keep you posted.

Hi Marion,
Can you give me details on the event in Chicago?  What would representing CC at a booth entail?  I  would love to help, but I am certainly not versed in this cancer yet, like others.
Thanks for everything you are doing to bring this cancer to the forfront.

Barbarbara...I will post more about this real soon.   Thanks so much for the offer.  I would love to meet you and others while attending the conference.  There is still some doubt as to whether it is possible for the Foundation to attend this particular smposium as it is coinciding with the ASCO conference in Miami.  I will keep you posted.

I am also in Chicago and could possibly staff a booth for some days. If someone comes from out of town, I would love to offer a place to stay but right now I don't really have any place to put someone, though that could change by May.

Thanks so much Patty.  Definitely, the Foundation will be represented at the ASTRO annual meeting in Chicago Nov. 1 - 5.  Brrrrrrr..May sounds much more enticing.  Either way, I can't wait to meet up with everyone.
The May conference is still contemplated but, has not yet been decided on.  We will keep everyone posted.
