Topic: Supposed to be Dead by now

Hello everyone...I feel like it's been forever since I've read/posted.  So much has happened...for those of you familiar w/ my story--update....last September, my father was told to get his affairs in order that he only had about a year to live.  After his last of 12 rounds of chemo this week--everything has consistently come back normal and no cancer on the CT scans (even though we know tumor still remains)--he has yet to expire!

I thought I would share some good news w/ you all.  Keep fighting, don't accept "no" until the last breath is taken, and stay strong!

Heather, in two days it will be exactly two years since my husband's 'then' oncologist told him "you have maybe 6 months to live and chemo/radiation won't help".  Just goes to show that there is no doctor that can tell you how long you have, only your God knows that.

Tell your dad to hang in there, and go with God and KEEP KICKIN' THAT cancer.  Tom is still fighting even with a new tumor causing some issues and he is currently back on chemo...but he's not ready to give up yet.

Hi everyone --
I was diagnosed a year ago, at 56,  and thankfully doing well on Carboplatin and Gemzar, two weeks on and on off.  Was originally on Cisplatin. I have an inoperable tumor met. to the lungs. Although tumor may not go away, I can live normally as long as it stable. I have not come across anyone in my area (northern Westchester, NY) with bile duct cancer - so I appreciate this Web site.  I am looking forward to many more birthdays and hope the same for all of you!!!

Fighting CLC since 11-2010. Looking for silver linings every day.

Heather thank you for sharing that story and giving us hope. My grandmother was not able to get chemo yesterday which was only going to be her second treatment. The first treatment wore her out.

But you have just given me renewed hope.  Thanks be to God and I'm happy about your dad smile

In God's Hands...
What a pleasant post to find this a.m.!!! My husband is battling cholangiocarcinoma; he had Whipple last year; now is in his second chemo with regimen with CISPLATIN/GEMZAR.  I tell him all the time that he will just have to be my little MIRACLE. I believe in the POWER of PRAYER, and since FEBRUARY of 2011, I've been making hand-held FANS with Bible scriptures on them and giving them out freely to strangers and other persons battling cancer or other illnesses, along with just one request... to please pray for my husband in his cancer fight. Meeting strangers who so easily understand and relate to our fight has in itself been a blessing. "For with God nothing shall be impossible!" Luke 1:37
