Topic: Great 4 Year Check-Up

Hi All,

Just wanted to post that my husband Ron had his 4 year check up and continues to be doing great.  He had a resection 4 years ago at Sloan Kettering and we have been very blessed with no recurrences of cancer.

I do not post often but I read this website weekly.  I pray for the folks on this website and think about your posts often.

Hugs,
Nancy

Re: Great 4 Year Check-Up

Great news ... I'm ~ 2.5 years out from a resection at NY Presbyterian, and still get 'scanxiety' when the CT's come up.

Keep the good news coming!

I know exactly how you feel.  Ron and I both go through that pit in our stomach the week before check up.  He did not have a CT scan this appointment, only bloodwork.  His CA199 was a "10" so I told him he was my perfect "10".  All of his bloodwork was totally normal so we feel very lucky and blessed.

That's such great news!  Very happy for you both!

Nancy,
What wonderful news to read!  Thank you for sharing this positive message with us!  We also live in Richmond, Virginia.  My Mom just had a liver resection in July at Henrico Drs. Hosp. by Dr. Mendez and Dr. Layman.  They are both top notch liver specialists/surgeons so she was in good hands.  She is now at home, and still draining.  She'll have radiation and take Xyledol chemo pills for 6 weeks once the radiation begins - after the draining ends which we hope is soon!  Congrats again, and God Bless.

Re: Great 4 Year Check-Up

Congratulations to Ron and to Jim.  Just had my year check-up, know the scanxiety (like that word!) and, as a friend with cancer and I like to say after each clear scan/bloodwork, "We got the governor's reprieve" for 4 more months.  Keep the good news coming and hope it spreads to others.
