Topic: Med Update

Just spent 2 days in the Hospital "holding tank". All tests, all LABS everything is good except my potassium hit almost bottom and they were afraid of a heart attack. OMG! It was so icy cold in there I thought I was already in a morgue! LOL They got my potassium up to normal and I came home last night. Bottom line is that it is all from being off the Prednisone! Just what we thought in the begining. Could take another month yet.
They brought me dinner which of course I could not eat but there was a bowl of sliced oranges. I tried one and I could not stop sucking on that orange. It was like a filet mignon! Robin is going to the store today and getting me things we think I can try like oranges, popsicles, Italian ice. They said to start very slowly. Down to 132 LBS. Very, very tired.
Even biopsies from the swollen Pylorus came back benign. Back to my favorite place....bed. Oh, got checked for cortizol and that was normal too!
So one might say I am perfectly healthy except for the UC but I have to get my strength up first. One thing at a time. Just had an orange Popsicle and it was delish!

Re: Med Update

Thank goodness everything looks better, Lainy. I just bought some oranges last week because someone on tv said they were really good right now. The ones I got are delicious. I am glad to hear you found something that tasted good to you. I am hoping and praying so much that you feel better and get your strength back. We need more of your funny banter!! But most of all, we just need you. Take care, sweet lady and feel better soon.

Love and hugs,

Re: Med Update

Lainy,

Best of luck to you and get better. I'm sure every one on this board misses you. I've had Crohn's since 1972 so I know what you're going thru. Eat right and stress control help keep the flare ups and pain away.

Re: Med Update

Oh, I am so happy for you that things are looking up! What a nice post to wake up to! Bed is good. Oranges are good. Lainy feeling upbeat is excellent. Lab results you like=fantastic. I just spent an hour in bed imagining all manner of flowers gowing in the garden of my abdomen - - with small poisonous carrots growing all in my liver. White daisies for the intestines, red tulips for the uterus, etc. I know it's crazy, but laying in bed and growing a beautiful garden is a fine way to pass the time and helps you heal. Hugs and all good things to you Lainy! xox
