Topic: CT scan shows lung metastases

Did I tell you all that my last scan in February showed about 20 new spots of cancer in my lungs?  I'm pretty bummed about that, but what can you do?   I don't know how the lung mets will affect me, but I think that mets to the liver and lymph nodes are more dangerous then mets to the lungs.

If I already shared this news, I'm sorry.  I'm tired and have chemo brain tonight.

Re: CT scan shows lung metastases

Lisa....it does not matter whether you have shared it before or not..the important thing is to say it.  There are many threads on metastases to lungs on this site posted by other members.  It appears to be more common than not.  Our JeffG has written about it several times also.  I don't remember how many nodules he has however, his lung capacity was quite adequate according to his posting about one month ago.
Hugs coming your way,
Marion

Re: CT scan shows lung metastases

Hi Lisa,  I think you mentioned it somewhere, but that's okay you can mention it again if you want.  Both of my lungs have mets and been growing slowly for years.  Largest spot is 3.2 X2.8 CM .  My o2 saturation is still between 94-98.  Hopefully the mets won't effect you as much as you might think for quite some time, knock on wood.  Sorry, your bummed and have chemo brain tonight.  Wish I could say something to make you feel better.  Well, I probally could but it might get censored rather quickly.  Hang in there girl.  Where are you at with your chemo treatments.  Nice relaxing bath might help take off the edge.
God Bless Ya!

Re: CT scan shows lung metastases

Lisa, I am sorry to here your bummer news, sometimes I wonder about the sophisticated tests there are nowadays and all they can tell us, maybe sometimes we would be better off not knowing, it is near impossible to feel a random carefree moment.

That said, keep your chin up.

Re: CT scan shows lung metastases

Hi Lisa

I'm sure that was very hard news to hear.  I'm also sure no one here cares how many times anyone says something!  It just means that you need to talk about it I think.  I remember you said you were on a new chemo, and hopefully it will keep things in check as the Gemzar has with your liver.

Sending all positive thoughts and prayers your way tonight Lisa!

Jean

Hi Lisa. I think you have earned the right to say what you want on this site and as often as you want. That's what we are all here for.  You have the best attitude and a great family and that is what will get you through this latest news. Life with CC is certainly NOT boring is it? Sometimes a little boredom would be a pleasant change! Thinking of you more than you know.

Re: CT scan shows lung metastases

Thanks, everyone.  I guess I'm just tired of people telling me of someone they know who was cured of cancer, or if I have enough faith, God will cure me, or if I drink this or eat that, then I will be cured.

I'm realistically optimistic in that I hope to have a few more years, but that this cancer will most likely be the cause of my death.

Re: CT scan shows lung metastases

Thats what I always say. Realistically optimistic! I think that's a good way to be. It's kind of like being a Boy Scout....always prepared. Another one I "love" is that people are always telling Teddy he looks so good! Wonder what they would say if they could see his innards. Just being a little silly here. Loy you and you keep that spirit up!
