Topic: My husband Jim.

Hi Everyone,

My husband Jim passed away on Sept. 2, 2008 at the age of 62 after only 7 weeks. Up until then he was a normal healthy man. I am so greatful to have read how all of you have & are feeling, as I am only 3 weeks in to this & am feeling all of it & more. It is helpful to know that no matter how long this goes on or what I am feeling it is normal for me. We were together 45 years, married 41 & have lived & worked together almost 24/7 most of that time. His passing has left a great void in my life & in my heart. I don't know if this is something I can ever totally accept. For now I will take it One Day At A Time. Thanks to every one on this site for being here to support & help each other. I am so glad to have found my way here. Only those of us who have or are going through this can truly understand the consequences of this horrible disease. God Bless all of you.

Re: My husband Jim.

Darla,
I am sorry for Jim's passing. I cannot not imagine the whole you must feel with his passing. Hopefully, time will take away some of the pain and you can remember how wonderful he was before cc. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Re: My husband Jim.

Darla..My heart goes out to you and I can relate so well.  My husband also was 62 years old when this cancer took him and not a day goes by without me wanting ....my old life back, with him.  Somehow, we manage to evolve and learn to adapt to our new and so unwanted circumstances at times....for minutes....at times for days....where we find comfort with thoughts, happenings, or reveling in fond memories.  Everyday, I remember how fortunate I have been to have lived these wonderful years with him thus gaining strengths through cherishing the fingerprints he left in my heart and soul.  My children have heard me say this many time......this cancer took Dad but, it will not take us.  My heart is with yours and I am hoping for it to heal....one day at a time.
