Topic: return

hi everyone,

does cc always comes back?

Re: return

Unfortunately the only thing we know for sure about CC is that it does return.
That is why keeping a watchful eye is paramount. Teddy has LAB work every month and sees the Oncologist every other month because to catch it quickly is the key. In the meantime he is feeling great and golfing more.  These are the days we live for and enjoy. We always remain optimistically realistic.

Re: return

I have been told that the likelihood of recurrence of this cancer to be very high although, it appears that very early detection of CC may (may) be the exception to this rule.  Therefore, I wish for an early screening for this cancer although, no method has been developed as of yet, that I know of.  As Lainy has mentioned, vigilant follow-up care with scans, blood test, etc. is absolutely mandatory.

Re: return

moon....just be vigilant.  We have seen people living with this cancer for many more years then expected or predicted by the physicians.  Those are those people giving hope to others.  Also, more research and better technology are always in development.  Scans are only able to detect anything larger in size then 1 cm therefore, it is important to look for symptoms which could relate to a recurrence, and to continue to have blood test, regularly.   Scans in common intervals of 3 to 6 months have been recommended to many of our members.  And, don't forget to relax and enjoy life, also.  I know this is not always easy to do but, my experience has tought me in addition to the many comments made by our great members, when in fear we easily overlook the joyous moments of our precious life.

Re: return

Moon, do not be afraid. We are very active seniors, we live life to the fullest.
One cannot be so afraid to live that they give up mentally on life. Just be watchful. Sounds like Tom has a pretty good prognosis.
