Just out of interest, why are liver transplants not considered for this cancer? When so many have their livers directly affected by this disease, I am curious as to why it is never mentioned anywhere as an option. Just curious.....not grasping at straws or anything!! 
Hello Kate, the Mayo Clinic does liver transplants to treat cholangiocarcinoma under some conditions and certain types. I
