Topic: New Little Addition is Drying Some Tears

Had to go to the blood lab this week, right next to the chemo center, where I've been taking Dad for appointments for the last 4+ months.  It was the first time that I've been back since his passing 2 weeks ago, and it was the first time we've ever received good news from the 'second floor- blue'... looks like we're having a baby!

Perhaps it's the nausea or perhaps the cycle of life taking new form, but the tears have fallen softer in the last few days.

Re: New Little Addition is Drying Some Tears

Oh, Tess that is about the best news ever!!!  And don't think "Grandpa" isn't  beaming over this one. I am so very happy for you. Is is not funny how things evolve?  I am sure the tears are bittersweet but don't think for one minute that your dad doesn't know and probably already knows if its a boy or girl. Many years ago...I used to eat an apple and it seemed to help the nausea. I am just so excited for you I could burst. Please keep us posted on this wonderful event.

Re: New Little Addition is Drying Some Tears

Congratulations, Tess! I know it's trite, but the whole "circle of life" thing is just so true. I'm sure your dad is happy and proud, wherever he may be. And your child may never know Grandpa personally, but you will definitely make Grandpa come to life again with your stories and memories.

Thanks for the well wishes KRis and Joyce! If there's any truth to the tale that all-day morning sickness is a good sign of a healthy baby- this little monkey is well on his way to full fit robust condition!

Best,
Tess

Wow, I missed it too.  Congratulations Tess!  That is wonderful news.

Advice time  - saltine crackers always helped me with nausea.

Re: New Little Addition is Drying Some Tears

Dear Lisa, Pam and Heather. Thank you again for your kind words.... it is a wonderful blessing & miracle and we're absolutely thrilled.   I'll take all the advice I can get if someone has a secret weapon to ward off the nausea/vomiting.  I fear that the saltines & apples just aren't cutting it!

Best,
Tess

Re: New Little Addition is Drying Some Tears

Feeling so sad about mom.  Sorry about not written lately because mom is still in the hospital, and in the critical condition with  a ventilation machine.  Her belly getting bigger and pushed against her lung so she having a hard time breathing since last Monday.  Today she is not making any urine and that the kidneys start to fail.  She currently on a lot alot of medication for her blood pressure (it dropped right after the small intestine surgery) Her white blood cell elevated so high and the doctor could not find out which one infection and she was on a bunch of drugs for that.  Her heart beat is so fast and she's been on medication for that also.  Finally we got the kidney doctor to come in and she told me that there were something she suspected.  It could be something blocking the kidney path and it would be the tumor or obstruction could be from the medication mom has been on so far.  Dialysis might be one of the options if it is blockage by the tumors.  We are hoping that the tumors are not invading her kidney path yet so we have more hope in fixing mom's kidney and then other medication start working the way it's supposed to do.  Right now she can't talk because the breathing tube is in her mouth and she is put to high dose of pain and Versed to sleep.  So sad to describe everything is happen to mom.  This stupid dieses acting so so scary.  I'm still praying for mom to get better and looking forward to some hopes that mom kidney will got corrected and the tube will be taken out when the drugs are working correctly and she can talk again and eat something.  How much time left the dieses give her is not so important to us now.
Gods please open your hearts to all patients here and their family.  We know that only Gods can change.

Re: New Little Addition is Drying Some Tears

Dear Quanyinprayer, I am so very sorry that your mom and family is having to go through this terrible journey. I know its scary. I remember when Teddy was on the Ventilator after his Whipple surgery and I don't think anything ever upset me as much as seeing that tube in him. I remember thinking, thank god they are keeping him asleep. Above all else is hurts us so to see our loved ones suffering. Our prayers are going out to your mom and family and our thoughts are going straight to you to give you the strength to carry on. Please keep us posted when you can.

Re: New Little Addition is Drying Some Tears

Dear Quanyinprayer, I too am feeling so bad that you are going through such a rough time. It is so very very very difficult to watch our loved ones suffer. All the unknowns make it even more difficult. I also know that it even hurts to write & talk about.  You & your Mom will continue to be in my heart & prayers Quanyinprayer. Sending you positive thoughts and strength for spirit.
