Topic: gallstones/gallbladder removal
When my mom had her resection the surgeon said he removed her gallbladder as well and that it was riddled with cancer, though he said it appeared to be a different cancer. Since then I have wondered if she would have developed the cc at all if her gallbladder had been removed years ago. Someone posted a link that led me to another article on this exact topic and I think it is very interesting:
I know it is probably not a good idea to go taking out gallbladders willy nilly but for those who have a risk factor for cc, maybe it is something to think about and I was wondering if those who are diagnosed with primary sclerosing cholangitis ever have the gallbladder removed as a precautionary measure.
