Topic: I lost the love of my life

On February 7, 2007, 11 months after initial diagnoses of CC, I lost the love of my life to this cancer as my children lost the father they adored and respected. He loved us more than one could wish for and that love will sustain us for the years to come, it will guide us through bouts of anger, fear, unhappiness, always embracing us, giving us the comfort and strengths to go on. It was a long, hard battle with a disease still in the infant stages of treatment and the discovery thereof.

This cancer in general is considered slow growing except when it is secondary to radiation, as it was in my husband

My heart goes out to you - what a wonderful man. Words are so fruitless at this time. I send a big hug your way and wish you strength. - Joyce

Re: I lost the love of my life

Marion,

Although we never met I came to have great regard and respect for Bruce as I learned more of his work and his life via emails and our few phone calls.
You also have been a model for us in this disbursed community with your untiring research, hope and support.
Would that we had met under better circumstances but always know that Bruce and your family have enriched our lives on the opposite coast.   I miss the comraderie he and I shared in our phone conversations.
Amy and I send our love and support to you and your family as well as thanks for the work you have done that benefits us all.
-Peter

Re: I lost the love of my life

Jmoneypenny, Kate and Peter,

I so very much appreciate your kind words to me and my family.  They are well received.

Please, remember to keep up the fight as each one has to approach this disease as his or her personal one.  The approaches may differ but the results are to be alike,  to keep this disease at bay while looking for a permanent cure.

Thanks again for your kindness

Marion

Having been in Germany last week, I only just saw your post about your husband.  I am terribly saddened to hear about your loss, you and your children have my deepest sympathy and are in my thoughts.  This really is a viscious desease, it just tears families apart.  My anger helps to give me the motivation to fight it however I can.

I have always appreciated your words of encouragement on this website - it means so much to me and I'm sure to other sufferers too.  You have contributed so much to this forum.

With kindest regards

Geoff

Re: I lost the love of my life

Dear Marion,

I am so sorry for your loss.  Your family has been through so much with this cancer and you certainly do have a lot of information to share with others about this terrible disease.  I hope you do continue share it and I wish you much success in your mission to do so.

To be married to the man of your dreams is a wonderful gift, and I am sure your memories of him will sustain you.  I know the love of your family will see you through this as it has for us in the recent loss of our mother with this disease.

My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.

With deep sympathy,
Bernie

Re: I lost the love of my life

Dear Marion,
My thoughts and prayers are with you in the days and weeks ahead.  I thank you so much for all that you contribute to this website.  Your husband was very lucky to have such a loving and caring family.  It saddens me though each time another family member is added to this list.   I pray that  we will see brighter days ahead with the awful disease.

Re: I lost the love of my life

Geoff,

thank you for writing these wonderful words.

I am always looking forward to hearing from you, especially with good news coming our way.

Have not finished compiling my info on hyperthermia but as I had mentioned before, it will be done before April.  When are you returning for treatment to Germany?

All the best
Marions

Re: I lost the love of my life

Bernie,

I thank you for your kind words especially, since you are also grieving over the recent loss of your Mom.  My condolences to you, also.

I will continue to share any information about this disease in the hope that others don't have to go down the dark road so many of us have to endure.

Kindly,
Marions
