Topic: Great Check-Up

Just wanted to post good news that Ron just had his 3 year check up from his resection in August, 2007.  He continues to be blessed with no recurrences.   I continue to read all posts weekly and keep you all in my thoughts and prayers.

Cheers,
Nancy

Re: Great Check-Up

Great news I am a cc survivor. I was diagnosed July 2008 and told only hope was liver transplant. I under went chemo, chemo and radiation and oral chemo. I rec'd my first liver on May 24,2009 making me cancer free! I rec'd my second liver July 2009, after my hepatic artery burst due to radiation damage. I was given 36 hours to live or find a liver and thanks to the power of pray and the worlds greatest surgeons at Barnes-Jewish Hospital (St. Louis, MO.) I survived. I am there walking miracle! I made my first trip solo to walmart in Aug 2010, it has been a long 2 years, but I am proof there is a God. Keep praying and don't give up!!!

Re: Great Check-Up

jathy125.....thank you for sharing this incredible news with us.  A liver transplant repeat is something this board has not been able to show until you came along.  Congratulations on many things including, your very first solo outing to Walmart.  What an accomplishment this has been.  I am glad that you have joined us.  Your story is inspiring and gives hopes to others.

This is the only section of the discussion area that I read.  I am so hungry for good news and good outcomes and just delighted with the news in this thread!  3 years!  May Ron and Jathy1125 have 100 more years of good health.

Re: Great Check-Up

What great news for you to share!! I myself am 7 months post  resection and then 4 months of chemo. I am getting ready to go to my 3 month post chemo scans and praying for the same results as you. Please continue to post good news because us fighters need to hear it. Best wishes to you both.

Re: Great Check-Up

Jim and Kristin:

Here's hoping for clean scans for both of you.  I LOVE to hear good news.  We still get very nervous when that dreaded appointment comes around.  From the beginning, Ron's oncologist only does one scan a year and then a follow up blood work only appointment every 6 months.  We started out with CT scans but he now does a PET scan every other time.

Hugs,
Nancy
