Topic: Death of a spouse or divorce which is worse

While I was in the lounge today a fellow worker was talking to another and said getting a divorce is the worse thing that ever could happen to a peron.
She also said that MAYBE losing a child maybe worse.  In a divorce the pair decide that they want to go elsewhere.  When you are apart of the final chapter of the couple, you both have something to do with it.  When you lose your spouse to a terrible disease like cc and all the other cancers of this cruel world, we would rather have this person back at all cost.  Unless you can say that my spouse went to heaven and nothing could be done, not the doctors, pastors, and anyone else breathing in this world.  Don't you dare to compare.

I'm not a widow, I am a wife
We are only apart for heaven's sake
You are waiting for me at heaven's gate

Amen!  I do agree that losing a child must be terrible, but atleast in most cases you would have your spouse to share your grief and to help and support each other.

Oh ladies, I don't feel we should cross the conversation of who's loss it more tragic.  We are here for each other for whatever we should need.  When I'm having a really crappy day, I do something nice for myself or someone else.  We each have our own pain and it is real to each of us.

Pam - very wise.

Terry - your coworker is a self-centered beeatch.

All losses are horrible. All losses require a period of grieving. All losses must be incorporated into our lives. My heart grieves for each and every loss.

I agree with Kathy B-your co-worker is a self absorbed b*%#@.
Some people are just totally unaware of the world around them.

Your co-worker's comment must have hurt you a lot, Terry.  Grrrrrrr to such insensitive people.
