Topic: Relay for Life
I have a question for you, especially for the cholagiocarcinoma foundation.
I was interested in participating the "Relay for Life" walk this upcoming May here in Santa Clarita. My purpose of this is to honor my mothers and other who have passed of this awful disease (My aunt passed away from this 3 years ago and my mother is currently struggling with it) and of course others who have passed away and are fighting cancer in gereneral...seems like everyone.
However, I was interested in doing a booth that focuses on Cholangiocarcinoma, since it is so unknown. When people ask me what type of cancer my mother has, and I explain that it involves the gallbladder, I hear, "Huh...never knew you could get cancer there." So my question is, do you think it would be beneficial to support Relay for Life, which probably uses money to research the more "popular" cancers, or do something different?
Also, if anyone is in the Southern California area that would like to participate with me please let me know. It is an amazing event. I was fortunate to walk on a friends team (when her team mates did not show up). It was a great experience. The speaker was a son of a man who died from cholagiocarcinoma (which affected his gallbladder). It was interesting how this was the speaker that I so needed to hear that evening. The candle light remembrance was also amazing.
Thank you for your feedback, I appreciate it.
