Topic: The skies over Scotland last night

Hi all,

Thought I would post some pictures of the skies over Scotland last night. Some great pictures of the Aurora Borealis more commonly known of the Northern Lights. Some great pics that I saw online and thought I would share them here.

Absolutely stunning! When we used to live in northern British Columbia (22 years ago) we would see the Northern Lights quite often - they are something to behold. Hope to make it to Scotland and Wales one day. My grandfather was from Scotland and my grandmother from Wales - I'm a redhead!

I remember the very first time I saw the 'northern lights'! Having lived in the city most of my life I'd never seen them.  One night when married to my first husband, we were driving home from a small town up north when I noticed some weird lighting in the sky.  I did not know what they were.  My hubby pulled the truck over to the side of the highway at the top of the hill and we watched the lights for over an hour.  The display of the northern lights was amazing.

After Tom and I were married we were doing some night fishing on the lake where we have our cabin and at about 11 pm the sky was flashing with the northern lights.  We really didn't do much fishing just stared at the skies watching the beautiful lights. 

Here is the US we see them more in the fall just when the nights start turning colder.  It's an awesome sight, one that you will never forget.  I've seen them a few others times and it is just AMAZING!

Glad you all liked them. If I see any more good pics then I'll post them here. Wish I'd seen this for myself, never have done yet. And Nancy, if you do get over to Scotland make sure you get in touch and let me know that you're coming over, you'll love it here!

Devoted Daughter to the most wonderful Dad a girl could ask for.  Sadly lost his battle on 19.02.11, peacefully in the arms of Mom and I.  As requested by Dad "we will keep on smiling".
