Topic: Ct scan

Stable postsurgical changes of left hepatectomy and
cholecystectomy are noted. No abnormal soft tissue recurrence within
the surgical bed. A geographic hypodensity extends along the entire
resection margin, reflecting post radiation changes. There are areas
of heterogeneity within this region, though no discrete measurable
lesion at this time. Previously identified patchy hepatic lesions
within this region are no longer well visualized, which may be
related to change in hepatic attenuation and interval treatment.
Unchanged mild posterior right lobe intrahepatic biliary duct
dilation extending to the liver hilum possibly due to underlying
variant biliary anatomy.

My oncologist says I will get another scan in 8-12wks, but said this is good news.  I haven't spoken with her yet.  I see my oncologist and radiation oncologist on Monday, so will learn more then.  I'm still a little pooped from chemo, but nothing terrible. I did cancel my trip to San Diego because I was just too weak to walk around all day.  But, I am in the process of planning a vacation with my husband, sister and niece, so hopefully it will work out.  I'm trying not to get too excited, my last labs when I got chemo showed mildly elevated AST and ALT in the 60's, but my alk phos was 500.  It went up pretty high last time during chemo too so am trying not to worry too much.  One day at a time, I guess.

Take care,

Susie

Susie:
I'm not sure what all that means either, but if your onc says that's good news, then YAY!!! (I need some of my scans translated into English too)
I hope you have a wonderful vacation with family.
Good luck on Monday! I'll check in Tues. to see how you're doing.

Re: Ct scan

I agree with Kris...it's a bunch of mumbo jumbo to me, but if you doc says it's good, I say YAY!!
