Topic: Clean Scan

Hello all,

My wife, Marina, had a full body CT scan last Thursday. Our oncology nurse called us today with great news. The scan was CLEAN!! No evidence of recurrence.

The nurse gave us a heads up: our oncologist will offer us another chemo cycle. Gemcitabine/Cisplatin cycle #6. The nurse said he likes to add a cycle or two *after* a clean scan. We will see him tomorrow (Thursday) to discuss this. I'm not sure yet what we are going to do.

I also want to mention that we reached a milestone. Tuesday marked the one year since Marina's CC symptoms showed up. April 10th, 2011 she came down with severe abdominal pain. We thought she caught a bad case of food poisoning at a friend's dinner party (little did we know).

So there you go. A clean scan at the one year mark. I hope Marina's good news give hope to others!

My very best wishes to each and every one of you.

Hugs,
Eli

Re: Clean Scan

Hi,Eli,
Indeed ,it is good news. I was worry that I did not see you participated on the message board lately and emailed to your direct email address, but the email returned. Is your email address listed correctly, can you check?
When you have time, I need your computer expertise and skill to help me to correct and post some up- to- date information on the Wikipedia under "cholangiocarcinoma " .take a look about the version history  there and see what you can correct what I did wrong there. They like me to help them to post more current info but I had a hard time understand the computer entry requirement.
The information on Wikipedia is at least six years behind and the reason I got involved is one of our member Malc1235? Said on this message board how horrify he felt when he first read about this disease on Wikipedia .
God bless.

Re: Clean Scan

Hi, Kate,
You are welcome.
Eli is excellent in computer ,he is an IT guy and he is very detail oriented in researching of information. His style is subjectively objective. He is a good asset
for this site. He told me he is working on the matter ,so please tell you dad we pay attention to our members including things that seems of no importance.
I try to edit the language of Wikipedia totally because I agree with your dad's comment; and the info they put up there was way too old and out dated.
God bless.

Re: Clean Scan

Thank you all for the warm congratulations.
Marina and I are very thankful for your support.
Hugs to all,
Eli

P.S. I will work with Percy to see what we can do about Wikipedia language. Changing Wikipedia articles isn't as simple as I thought. Each Wikipedia article has a small community of editors behind it. They are very protective of their work. Understandably so... they put a lot of effort into creating that content.
