Sounds promising!! And the Dr. in Pittsburgh only works with the human liver. This will be a wonderful advancement not only for cc but for many other cancers.

I find this very interesting. It's tempting to find out what MD Anderson says about the tumor and whether nanoparticles would work. Of course, I have the liver infusion pump which is similar in that the chemo is pumped directly into the tumor, but not using nanoparticles.
If my surgeon hadn't said resection is possible now, I might have looked into it further. I know there's a dr. in Pittsburgh (which is still 5+ hours away) and I would be very tempted to see what my chances would be, and whether my insurance would cover clinical trials.
Kris....as far as I know Dr. Curley mentioned (via another venue) that we are still off a bit in re: to human trials.
But things can change quickly. We will stay on top of this subject.

I've been on these forums before on behalf of a friend who's battling a currently non-resectable klatskin tumor CC. His wife researched Kanzius and brought it up with me today. As always, the first thing I do is rely on this forum for wisdom from shared experience.
I noticed this was the only related thread - does anyone have any new news regarding when this treatment is going to see light of day?

The most recent news release by Kanzius Cancer Research Foundation says this:
We are finally at the point of conducting tests on large, nonhuman laboratory subjects, the final stage before presenting to the FDA for human trials.
Translation: they are doing tests on large animals. They haven't done any human trials yet.

"We've proved we can deliver the nano-particles to the cancer cells and we also showed that this treatment has no major side effects," Dr. Curley said.
Now the next big hurdle is getting the Food and Drug Administration to give Dr. Curley the green light to begin clinical trials on humans.
Curley says he hopes that will happen within the next three years.
"We hope by the fall we'll actually be able to start some modeling on large animals," he said.
If all goes well, the FDA could approve the Kanzius Treatment within the next seven years - specifically targeting patients with pancreatic and liver cancer.
