Thanks Lainy, I will do. What we got told last night all ties in with why mum was having such a hard time with the coughing, choking and retching etc. And it ties in as well with what she says about her throat when she goes through it all. So, as usual they say use the mucodyne to try and break it up as that is all they can do. Doc said that if it happened to someone who's lungs weren't as weak as mums then they would be able to cough it out eventually. But, as mums lungs are so weak that is why she can't cough them out.
Doc said that all mums vitals were ok, no heart attack or anything like that so that was ggood. Then they said she could go home without getting a chjest xray, I said no, I wanted a chest xray done so they did one and it came back clean, no signs of infection or anything like that which is good.
But I persevered with the doc and he thinks mum may have heart failure and that is what is causing the breathlessness to be as bad as it is. The hard mucus cuasing the coughing etc and heart failure maybe causing the breathlessness. So, finally we may be getting somewhere but we'll have to wait and see. Need to get her seen by her gp this week as the A&E doc recommenends that she have all her meds reviewed and get a referal if she can to a cardiologist.
A&E doc can't refer her for that so he says and they couldn't keep her in as there was nothing for them to treat there and then. Was not a happy chappy about that at all, but still, we could be making some progress. Hopefully as this can't go on like this for much longer. I'll let you know how things go next week.
