Topic: Not sure if I'm in the correct place

The end of May this year I had a PPPD Whipple procedure for Ampullary Adenocarcinoma which I was told was a CC, but was then told it was not a CC, but then read that it is classed as a CC.  So asking if I’m in the correct place?

Hi,
In the New classification of bile duct cancer, Ampullary adenocarcinoma (AA)is not belonging to CCA.
But as recent as  a couple months ago,when I read about CCA, AAis  still mentioned together in the articles of treating CCA.

I do not see AA will have a large population to support a separated web site on its own. The treatment plans of AA are more or less the same as CCA but your chance of survival is better than those,like me for example,for a longer period.

Bob...the medical committees I belong to do not include Ampullary Adenocarcinoma in clinical trials for Cholangiocarcinoma patients; I have been told that it is a separate cancer.
Having said that, dear Bob, you are welcome to join in.  I am however concerned about you reading information not pertaining to your particular cancer as well as that some postings may be disturbing to read.

What I small world, I am from Upper Gornal!! Where are you being treated? My Dad was under Mr Bramhall at the Queen Elizabeth, Birmingham.

Devoted Daughter to the most wonderful Dad a girl could ask for.  Sadly lost his battle on 19.02.11, peacefully in the arms of Mom and I.  As requested by Dad "we will keep on smiling".

Started off at Russells Hall and was then referred to the QE at Birmingham. my first appointment at the QE was with Mr Bramhall but the operation was carried out by Mr Mirza.
