Topic: No new posts in over a week!

What's happening?  Is everyone in the doldrums?

It's nearly spring!  Time for hope!  Time to look for buds on branches.  Skunk cabbage is sticking up in our wetlands.  (Just in time for St. Pat's day.)  The buzzards are due to return to Hinckley Ridge on March 15.

I have faith.  Getting a new roof put on.  And by roof, I mean everything except the trusses.  Got it done about 10 years ago by a hack.  Mold all over the inside surface.  Better get it done by Tuesday night - next storm is scheduled for Wednesday.

The Indians home opener is April 4.  I know they won't let me down like the Browns and Cavs.  You gotta believe!  WC Fields said it best:  “Everybody's got to believe in something. I believe I'll have another beer.”  My daughter and I home brewed some beer two weeks ago and I bottled it today.  It gets carbonated this week and opened next weekend.  I even invited her to the festivities.  Hate to drink alone.

I was bummed by the fact that the world can read what we write here.  So, if I offended anyone, that's what you get for snooping.

Saw "Joseph and the ... Dreamcoat" Saturday.  Wow.  It gets better each time I see it.  This was the first professional production I've watched (except for Donny Osmond).  If it plays near you, I highly recommend seeing it.

Folks, there's a great big world out there.  Don't let it pass you by.  Go for the brass ring every chance you get.

Re: No new posts in over a week!

Wonderful post Duke and I believe like all the good things you posted a lot of people are doing those same things and that is why you feel it is quiet around here. I don't find it that quiet as we had at least 4 newbies this last week. In a way quiet is good as it means things are going well and perhaps in the not to far future we won't be needed. We just had our big Golf Open, the fabulous Zoo is always open, there is still skiing up North, the sun is out everyday and we worship a cloudy day for something different. Outdoor concerts are starting, the casinos are always busy or you can hike a mountain. We have it all! You would not believe how the desert starts blooming in March! Do I sound like a commercial?

Hi Duke,

Joseph is my favourite musical.  Lost count of how many times I've seen it  amateur productions always the best. I now have my 6 year old singing it word perfect.  Rights for the film have been signed :-)

Re: No new posts in over a week!

Good morning,

I'm so glad you mentioned the home-brewed beer.  For Christmas, I bought the husband a beer making kit.  He was very excited about trying it, but the box made it downstairs and was been forgotten. We'll have to  it out and working.  And, I am hopeful that Spring is coming-  had a pedicure yesterday in anticipation that we will have sandal weather soon. I am ignoring the forecasts that still say chance of snow.

Elton John is producing the animated movie.  That will be incredible!

Everyone - thanks for answering.  Gives me hope that spring is coming soon.

Re: No new posts in over a week!

Celebrated our Mom's 89th birthday at her house yesterday with a backyard brunch. Same house she has been in for 51 years. She was radiant. It got up to 80 degrees in San Jose yesterday! We were peeling off layers of clothes and enjoying the balmy day. Flowers blooming, birds chirping, BBQ smoking. It was a rare gathering of all 6 sibs plus nieces, nephews, grand kids and close family friends. What a lovely day smile

Re: No new posts in over a week!

We actually had three sunny days in a row today in Washington and yesterday was almost 65 degrees. It's now shorts with socks and sandals weather around here. Fruit trees prunes and roses pruned and fed.

Looking forward to summer. I has been almost a year on us for this roller coaster and when we are all done we are having a HUGE party to celebrate done with treatment. We have some really good friends who own a small (but growing) local brewery and they are supplying the beer.

Hope everyone has some good weather to enjoy.
