Hi Jyoti,
Hope your brother is doing well and we wish him a speedy recovery.

I would recommend he see Dr Suresh Advani for a primary oncologist and Dr P Jagannath from Lilavati Hospital to check the possibility of surgery. Dr Jagannath operated on my mom last year for CC.

I wont spend time posting my experience but you can read details on my mother on this forum:

We will keep your brother in our prayers.

Re: Suggestions needed for Oncologist in New Delhi/Gurgaon region, India

Hello Deepak/Jyoti,

About 2 weeks back, my mom has been diagnosed with stage 4 klatskins tumor
- cancer of the bile duct that has spread to her liver and the lungs.

The diagnosis was done in India and the doctors did an ERCP to place metal stents that controlled the jaundice and hyper acidity that she was suffering from. Doctors here are telling me that her disease is beyond the scope of surgery and chemotherapy would just make her life difficult.  I saw your post on CSN and it gave me some hope. I work in the US and was hoping to know if there were any specialized doctors/treatments you knew or anything at all I could do to save her.

She is currently admitted in Nanavati Hospital in Mumbai.

We want to bring my mom to the US for the treatment but as she is in Hospital currently I am not sure if she can take the journey. At this point I also want to explore all the treatment options I can get in India. If you can please give me more details about the  treatment and the drugs that worked for you I can check for the same in India.

I would greatly appreciate any help on this.

God bless.

Regards,
Deepti

Re: Suggestions needed for Oncologist in New Delhi/Gurgaon region, India

Sir,

My friend Salim's mother has been diagnosed with bile duct cancer.

She is 60 years of age and stays in Ahmedabad. There is an evidence of an ill defined hypo dense soft tissue density lesion measuring 61 x 58 x 48 mm in size.

Lesion extends to involve confluence of hepatic duct resulting in mildly dilated radicle in right and left lobe , more marked on the left side.

Multiple enlarged peripancreatic , upper para aortic and para - caval lymphnodes are seen. Largest measures about 17 x 12 mm in size in peripancreaic region.

Evidence of multiple inhomogeously enhancing lesions of variable size are seen in both lobes of liver, suggest metastasis.

Doctors feel surgery is not possible and are taking her for chemotherapy. Please advice if surgery is possible ?? What is the line of treatment ??

We can come and visit, please advice urgently.

Thanks a lot.
