Topic: My husband has died

I wanted to post my beloved husband Paul died very peacefully on May 26, after 9 mo of suffering from one of the most HORRID cancers known! The last 4 days, I transferred him to a Hospice center, as he began to hemorrhage internally. He was very confused due to the high ammonia levels that affect the brain. He had a fever of 106 just before he died. I was very scared he would go into seizures!
I learned a lot from this site, it helped me daily, cope and be informed, when life is out of control. NOW I MUST LEARN to go on alone after 35 yrs, I'm DEVASTATED!
Thank You

Re: My husband has died

Dear PaulPat, I am so very sorry to read about your husband. Please accept my sincere condolences and know that in time, your time, the good Memories will overtake the memories of this terrible journey.

If I should be the first to go,
And leave you alone, my Dear,
Let not your heart be lonely,
Nor in your eyes a tear.
Grieve not for me, my Darling,
I’ll not be far away,
With petals of love and tenderness,
I’ll pave for you the way.
To join me in our sanctuary,
And ne’er again we’ll part.
Grieve not for me, my Darling,
I live within your heart.
Take joy again in living,
As you did in years gone by;
God knows what of he’s doing,
And not be questioned why.
Grieve not for me, my Darling,
My life with you on earth
Each moment filled with happiness,
And love so few be worth.
I’ll be waiting for you Sweetheart
Where skys are ever blue,
With eager heart and open arms
Patiently, for you.
Grieve not for me, my Darling,
May faith and my love keep.
Your soul filled with contentment
Eternally, I sleep.

Re: My husband has died

Dear Pat,

I am sorry to hear that Paul has passed.  If it is any consolation,  at least he is no longer suffering or in pain.  No words can easy your pain and sadness at this time, but know that you will have him with you forever in your heart and memories.  Thinking of you and your family at this sad and trying time.

Love & Hugs,
Darla

Re: My husband has died

My heartfelt condolences are with you.  I am thankful that his passing was peaceful, but still wish you and Paul didn't have to be part of what I agree is a horrid disease. I Hope with time the 35 years of memories will overshadow your recent times.

Re: My husband has died

Dear Pat,
My heart breaks for you. I'm so sorry for your husband's death, especially from this disease, and that the two of you suffered this horrendous experience. Yes it is a difficult road ahead. Some of us here have discussed the emotional trauma caused from this roller coaster cancer, while at the same time enduring the loss of the one you love. I'm so sorry. It is devastating and I'm sorry for your pain. Praying for strength for you. Margaret

Re: My husband has died

I am so sorry for your loss. My husband of 43 years died May 8th (one month ago today). He was 63 years old. It was 6 months from his diagnosis to his death. This is truly a horrible disease. Until my husband was diagnosed, I had never heard of cholangiocarcinoma. I pray for everyone on this site and hope you have the support of loving friends and family like I have. God bless.
