A Magnificent May for CCF Community Fundraising

This spring, our community fundraisers were hard at work spreading awareness, raising vital funds, and most importantly, bringing people together to spread awareness about cholangiocarcinoma (bile duct cancer). From heartfelt gatherings to spirited workplace campaigns, these efforts show the incredible power of community when it rallies behind a cause.

We are thrilled to extend our heartfelt gratitude to two particularly special fundraisers: Scott Waldman and Christina Gambogi. Their remarkable achievements made this past May one to remember for the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation.

De’s Memorial Block Party
The third annual De Waldman Memorial Block Party once again turned the streets into a celebration of love, laughter, and lasting memories. Friends, family, and community members traveled from across the Northeast and Baltimore to honor the life of Denese “De” Waldman with a day full of music, food, and fun. Organized by De’s husband, Scott Waldman, along with a dedicated group of loved ones, the event raised over $22,000 for CCF. Scott’s tireless work and generosity are a shining example of how one person’s commitment can create lasting impact.

Ravitz Family Markets Charity Month
Meanwhile, in New Jersey, Christina Gambogi and the entire Ravitz Family Markets team brought their passion and dedication to the third consecutive Ravitz Family Markets Charity Month benefiting CCF. Christina—herself a CCF patient, CholangioConnect Mentor, and longtime Ravitz employee—once again led the charge to rally her colleagues around our mission. Together, they raised more than $16,000 in May alone. This incredible effort reflects not just generosity, but a workplace culture deeply rooted in community support and care.

To Scott, Christina, and everyone who participated in these events—thank you. Your hard work, compassion, and dedication fuel our mission, honor loved ones, and bring hope to patients and families around the world.
