Stacie’s brother, Mark Clements, was diagnosed in 2005 and ultimately passed away from Cholangiocarcinoma on January 19, 2007. Stacie advocated for her brother, extensively researched treatment options, and began networking with other patients, scientists, and healthcare professionals. From this experience, the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation was born.
Stacie is a founding member and has served on the Board of Directors since its inception. Stacie resides in Lehi, Utah, where she has five children. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Brigham Young University and studied nonprofit leadership at Harvard Business School. Stacie is an active member of her church and community.

Melinda Bachini is a 15-year survivor of cholangiocarcinoma. She was treated at the National Cancer Institute with a clinical trial using Adoptive Cell Therapy.
Melinda is married and the mother of six children, grandmother to two, and two more on the way. She is passionate about patient advocacy and uses her experience with previous and current treatments to give great insight into patients participating in clinical trials. She shares her story with as many cancer patients as possible in hopes of giving support to those in need.
Melinda served as a patient advocate for the NCI Hepatobiliary Task Force, the NCI Patient Advocate Steering Committee (PASC) from April 2016 to December 2022. She is a patient advocate for the ECOG-ACRIN GI Committee, ECOG-ACRIN Cancer Research Advocacy Committee, the NCI Council of Research Advocates, and the NCCN Hepatobiliary Guidelines Panel.

Amanda joined CCF in 2024, bringing with her over 14 years of experience in fundraising and nonprofit management within major health nonprofits. Passionate about making a difference, Amanda has successfully led numerous campaigns that have raised millions for health-related causes, including science innovation, patient support, and community development.
With a knack for building strong relationships and fostering collaboration, Amanda is committed to engaging donors to inspire support. She hopes her experience working with philanthropists, corporate entities, and community fundraisers will translate into meaningful experiences for supporters and a significant impact on CCF’s mission.
Amanda lives in the Hudson Valley of New York with her husband and three young children. In her spare time, Amanda enjoys exploring new activities with her kids, cycling, and advocating for causes close to her heart. She holds a BA from the State University of New York at Binghamton and an MA from the University of South Florida Saint Petersburg. Amanda’s journey as a mom fuels her passion for creating a better world for future generations.

Dr. Valle most recently served as a professor and honorary consultant in medical oncology at the University of Manchester and The Christie NHS Foundation Trust in Manchester, UK. Dr. Valle was part of a team establishing the first standard of care for patients with advanced cholangiocarcinoma in 2009 and is a founding member of the International Biliary Tract Cancer Consortium. He chaired the UK National Cancer Research Institute neuroendocrine subgroup and was a member of the hepatobiliary and pancreatic cancer subgroups. His research focused on developing new therapies for pancreatic, biliary, and neuroendocrine cancers, and he has been instrumental in designing and developing many clinical trials.
Throughout his career, Dr. Valle has made significant contributions to the field, authored numerous publications, including over 300 scientific articles, and received multiple research grants to support his work. His research set the standard for patient care in cholangiocarcinoma.

Lily joined the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation in 2024 as Chief Financial Officer with responsibilities for the Foundation’s financial management and long-range financial strategy. Prior to joining CCF, Lily spent three years in Washington with Empire Health Foundation as its Chief Financial Officer with responsibilities that included financial management, risk management, and impact investment strategy. Lily also spent eleven years in North Carolina with The Duke Endowment, supporting organizations in healthcare, childcare, higher education, and rural churches. Lily began her career in corporate finance and consulting with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. She holds an MBA degree from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business. She and her family live in Oregon.

Kaitlin joined CCF in 2025 with almost a decade of experience in both the public and private sectors, collaborating closely with stakeholders, businesses, and community members to create strategies and solutions that drive positive impact. At CCF, she partners with passionate supporters of CCF’s mission and oversees community fundraising efforts, which help the organization expand critical initiatives and continue to provide resources for patients, caregivers, and the medical community. Kaitlin has a strategic and goal-oriented mindset, a passion for health and improving quality of life, and a positive and empathetic personality, which she hopes will be a guiding force for CCF’s community fundraisers.
Kaitlin graduated from the University of Florida with a BS in Psychology and from the University of South Florida with a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree. She currently resides in San Francisco, California. Kaitlin enjoys trail running, biking, surfing, sailing, yoga, cooking, and reading. In her free time, she can be found outside exploring the Bay Area with her husband, two young children, and dog.

Allison is a marketing professional with experience in social media management, content marketing, and branding. During Allison’s senior year of college, she connected with the Foundation through a family friend and joined the team of Social Media Volunteers. She continued to be involved by taking a full-time role with the Foundation managing social media and has moved into overseeing all digital media, including advertising strategy.
Allison received a Bachelor of Science in Communications with an emphasis in Digital and Social Media Marketing from Brigham Young University—Idaho. She resides in Cincinnati, Ohio, with her husband, Cody, and their son, Liam. They are expecting a baby girl later this year. In her free time, she enjoys the outdoors and working out.

Mel was a primary caregiver to her mom, Joanna, who was diagnosed with cholangiocarcinoma and passed away in 2023. Walking alongside her mom through treatment gave Mel a deep appreciation for the strength of patients and families, and she is honored to now serve the cholangiocarcinoma community through her work at the Foundation.
She holds a B.A. in Government and Politics with a minor in International Development from the University of Maryland. Mel spent eight years in the federal government, focusing on workforce management and IT product management at the National Cancer Institute and the U.S. Department of the Treasury.
She currently lives in Washington, DC with her husband. She values time with family and friends and is always planning the next gathering or trip. Mel loves cooking, sharing recipes with loved ones, and exploring DC’s diverse restaurant scene.

Myria first worked with CCF in 2015 when she was in charge of organizing the travel and lodging arrangements for the annual conference in Salt Lake City. While booking travel for the Foundation, she had the opportunity to speak with scores of doctors, researchers, foundation staff, and patients. She was consistently awed by the reach, support, and advocacy the foundation provides. In 2020, Myria joined the organization as its Program & Operations Coordinator. Now, Myria manages many Communications projects to ensure the smooth delivery of materials for programs and the public.
Myria lives in Joliet with her husband, three children, and two dogs. She is an avid runner and ran the 2021 Chicago Marathon as a member of Team CCF.

Laurie brings over 22 years of experience in customer service and management to her role as Senior Database & Revenue Operations Manager at CCF. In 2011, Laurie faced the challenges of caregiving firsthand when she lost her father to pancreatic cancer. This experience ignited her passion for supporting the cancer community.
In 2012, Laurie joined CCF as a part-time assistant to the CEO and has since become an integral full-time member of the CCF community, making a difference in every position she manages.
As the Senior Database and Revenue Operations Manager, Laurie oversees data management and accuracy, contributing actively to revenue processes and generation strategies. She is committed to implementing best practices in data integrity and leveraging data-driven insights to optimize operations and inform strategic decision-making.
Outside of work, Laurie is a dedicated wife and mother of four residing in Saratoga Springs, UT. She is passionate about helping others and providing service to those in need. She is a new grandma and enjoys spending time with her family.

Before joining CCF, Meredith was the race director for two local 5Ks that raised funds for melanoma and pediatric brain cancer. Running and fitness have always been her passion.

Cholangiocarcinoma holds a special place in Elizabeth’s heart since losing her dad, Kosta, to the disease in 2015. She has spent her career working with cancer patients and researchers in honor of her personal connection.

Since 2021, Jude has worked with various non-profit organizations to expand community engagement across multiple social media platforms; before that, Jude taught middle school history and social studies, developed curriculum, and served in school leadership for six years.
Jude resides in Long Beach, CA, with their wife and dog, a border collie named Charli. In his free time, he enjoys going to the beach or getting out into the backcountry to hike, ski, and rock climb.

Rick’s brother-in-law, Mark Clements, was diagnosed in October 2005 with cholangiocarcinoma. Rick has been involved with the Foundation since its inception.
He grew up in Ogden, Utah, and attended the University of Utah, where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication. While employed as the Marketing/Promotions Director for KENZ-FM, he met his wife, Amy, after she won a radio station trip to Hawaii. Rick worked for the Salt Lake Organizing Committee during the 2002 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games.
He has been designing print materials professionally since 1992 and digital materials, including websites, since 1998.

Kari joined the CCF team in Fall 2024. She holds a BA in Psychology from Wartburg College and an MA in Thanatology from Hood College. Before joining the Advocacy Team, Kari worked for over 17 years as a family services coordinator in organ and tissue donation, providing trauma, grief, and bereavement services. She has collaborated with hospital and community partners to support patients and donor families and is a leader in grief support and donor/recipient correspondence. Kari has presented at national and regional conferences on family support.
Kari lives in Iowa with her husband, Zach, their two children, Kaily and Barrett, and their pets. She enjoys DIY projects, baking, travel, and hosting gatherings.

Lourdes earned her Master of Arts degree in Developmental Psychology from Teachers College at Columbia University. She is a Certified Child Life Specialist by training with over 15 years of experience advocating for children and families in various capacities.

She has spent a significant amount of time in her career building and executing communication strategies for higher education institutions. Working with faculty researchers and at a government regulatory agency has provided her with opportunities to translate crucial scientific information for specific stakeholders and the public. As a volunteer, she has spoken to elected officials on Capitol Hill about the importance of funding cancer research. She’s inspired by her dad’s untimely passing from pancreatic cancer and is honored to work at an organization dedicated to improving outcomes for patients and their families.
Karen loves going on adventures with her husband Brian and their children Joseph and Cora. She has a penchant for travel, book clubs, and shelter dogs.

Cindy has been with CCF since 2018. She initially worked to connect dedicated volunteers to the critically important programs at CCF and now works with CholangioConnect mentors, helping them provide mentorship to patients and caregivers. She is inspired by how CCF community members think of helping others in times of great difficulty. She loves working with immensely uplifting and inspirational individuals who give so much despite the challenge of cholangiocarcinoma.
Cindy lives in Boise, Idaho, and is a wife and mother to four girls and grandmother to one with a granddaughter on the way. Cindy received a Bachelor of Science degree from Brigham Young University in Zoology/Pre-Med and enjoys church service, gardening, and a good dance party.

Candace has worked for various nonprofits with missions ranging from hunger relief to mental health services, crisis intervention, and equitable education access. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Virginia Tech and a Master of Public Administration from Penn State University. Candace resides in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia with her husband, Joe, son, Turner, and beloved cat and dog.

Teresa’s husband, Stephen Ellmann, was diagnosed with Cholangiocarcinoma in November 2015. The family credits information and resources provided by the foundation with helping to connect Steve with five different liver-directed treatment regimens that were life-extending until his passing in March 2019.
Teresa is a higher education professional and, for the past 30 years, has worked for Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, in the fields of scholar and research development. She is the Senior Associate Dean and the founding director of the School of Graduate Studies innovative peer mentoring fellowship advising service. She holds a BA in International Affairs and History from the University of Mary Washington and an MA in History from Rutgers. Teresa joined the board of the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation in 2021.

Dan is an Investment Manager based in Houston that focuses on developing and managing quantitative, systematic strategies on behalf of clients. He is a Managing Member and Founder of Glenhaven Capital LLC, a Commodity Trading Advisor, as well as the Managing Member and Founder of Evan Capital LLC, which is a Registered Investment Advisor in the State of Texas. He holds a BA from Vanderbilt University and an MBA in Finance from the NYU Stern School of Business.
Dan’s mother, Linda, passed away from cholangiocarcinoma in 2007 following a 10-month battle. Dan, along with his father, Mel, and sister, Amy, have been involved in the advocacy for cholangiocarcinoma research since 2007 in various capacities. Dan became involved with the Foundation after attending his first annual meeting in 2016. Dan is also highly involved at MD Anderson as a member of the Advance Team, which is a group of young professionals that serve as ambassadors for the institution.

Tyler resides in Houston, Texas, and is a partner in the Houston office of the international law firm Womble Bond Dickinson, where he assists clients with the full lifecycle of risks related to technology, privacy, and cybersecurity issues. Prior to his current role, he held senior roles at both the Texas Attorney General’s Office and the Federal Communications Commission. Tyler is originally from Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and is an alumnus of the University of Oklahoma and the Georgetown University Law Center.

Jack Callaway is a financial services executive with 30+ years of Wall Street, mergers and acquisitions (“M&A”) and financing experience. Jack began his investment banking career in New York City in 1989 at Rothschild, a leading global financial advisory M&A boutique. He later moved to Lehman Brothers in 2000 where he became its Global Co-Head of Telecom M&A. After joining Barclays in 2008, Jack moved with his wife, Julienne, and three children, James, Emeline and Maddy, to London, England and was promoted to Global Co-Head of Barclays Telecom, Media and Technology Investment Banking Business. He later became its Chairman.
Jack graduated with a Masters in History from Oxford University and B.A. from Yale University. Jack became involved with the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation when his wife, Julienne, was diagnosed with cholangiocarcinoma in 2018. She passed away after a brave 16-month battle. She was only 53. Julienne’s strength and courage inspired Jack to join the Board of the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation at the end of 2021.

Sam Chi is a commercial leader in biotechnology with over 20 years of experience working across oncology, immunology, dermatology, and rare diseases. Over the course of his career, he has held leadership roles at companies including Genentech, Eli Lilly, Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson. He brings to the Foundation a unique perspective from the biotech industry and drug development, helping to bridge patient needs with innovative science and meaningful partnerships. His commitment to the Foundation’s mission is deeply personal—his mother passed away from cholangiocarcinoma in 2007. Sam is honored to serve on the Board and help accelerate progress for patients and families impacted by this disease.

Ross is an Investment Professional with a New York based alternative asset manager where he focuses on making investments in private energy companies. Mr. Green received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Washington University in St Louis. Ross began working with the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation in 2014 after his father, Bart Green, was diagnosed with cholangiocarcinoma. Ross joined the board of the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation in 2017.

Kris became involved with the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation (CCF) following her husband Jeff’s diagnosis in September 2022. In the early days, the Foundation was instrumental in helping their family navigate the complexities of the disease, providing critical guidance and support. As Jeff continues treatment, CCF remains an invaluable resource. Now, in the spirit of giving back, Kris and her family feel honored to support others facing cholangiocarcinoma. Through the Bachrach Family Foundation, they helped fund a research initiative focused on immunotherapy resistance as part of a collaborative effort to improve treatment strategies. Kris also actively participates in CCF’s caregiver calls, webinars, and other opportunities to engage with experts, patients, and caregivers.
Based in Denver, Kris is a mom to two teenagers, balancing family life with her role as EOS® Integrator & Head of Operations at The Receptionist. She partners with the President/CEO and Leadership Team to drive alignment, accountability, and operational excellence. Passionate about building high-trust relationships, she fosters confidence, connection, and competency—both within her team and through the impact of their software.

Stacie’s brother, Mark Clements, was diagnosed in 2005 and ultimately passed away from Cholangiocarcinoma on January 19, 2007. Stacie advocated for her brother, extensively researched treatment options, and began networking with other patients, scientists, and healthcare professionals. From this experience, the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation was born.
Stacie is a founding member and has served on the Board of Directors since its inception. Stacie resides in Lehi, Utah, where she has five children. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Brigham Young University and studied nonprofit leadership at Harvard Business School. Stacie is an active member of her church and community.

Jason is a retired financial economist currently involved in a few strategic consulting engagements as well as philanthropic endeavors. Previously, Jason spent two decades at Financial Engines, most recently as the Managing Director of the Retiree Research Center. Financial Engines is America’s largest independent Registered Investment Advisor working with more than 1,000,000 individual clients and managing over $250 billion in assets. The Retiree Research Center is dedicated to helping retirees plan and adjust to an uncertain retirement characterized by an unknown lifespan, unknown health level and unknown investment returns.
Jason has published a number of journal articles in the area of retirement economics. His research has focused on optimizing investment strategies in retirement, behavioral biases in decision making, and optimal mortality-contingent insurance contracts. Jason received a B.S in economics from Texas A&M University and a Ph.D. in economics from Stanford University.
Jason began working with the Foundation shortly after his wife, Andrea, was diagnosed with cholangiocarcinoma in 2013.

Ms. Warner is a Principal in the Ares Credit Group, where she focuses on opportunistic credit investing. Prior to joining Ares in 2024, she was a Principal at General Atlantic Credit (formerly Iron Park Capital), where she focused on private opportunistic credit for both performing and stressed companies. Previously, Ms. Warner was a Principal at KKR, where she focused on private credit. In addition, Ms. Warner was an Analyst in the Leveraged Finance Group at Nomura Securities. Ms. Warner holds a B.A., magna cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania in History and Economics.
