Community Champions: The Inaugural Los Angeles Marathon Team

For the first time, Team CCF joined the ASICS Los Angeles Marathon as a charity team on Sunday, March 8, 2026. Nine dedicated runners trained for 18 weeks and collectively raised $20,000 to support the mission of the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation.

Despite temperatures climbing to 90 degrees by early afternoon, the team pushed through the challenging conditions with determination and heart.

Team member Isaac Chan reflected on the experience:

Running the Los Angeles Marathon this year meant so much more to me than just another goal to accomplish or a time to hit. Amidst the heat, the grueling hills, and all the cramps, it was an honor to be reminded that this race wasn’t about me. I was running it for Sydney and the hope she and the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation instill. As my friend Syd would say, I was just “happy to be here.”

Team CCF has a strong tradition of endurance fundraising. The team has been a charity partner with the Bank of America Chicago Marathon for the past 10 years and the TCS New York City Marathon for eight years. Expanding to the Los Angeles Marathon created an exciting opportunity to bring Team CCF’s presence to the West Coast.

We are incredibly grateful to the nine community champions who represented Team CCF in Los Angeles:

  • Joe Ciranni
  • Isaac Chan
  • Arnie Duenas
  • Kristen Farr
  • Aaden Jimenez
  • Cameron Marsh
  • Charina Molina
  • Diana Park
  • Chandler Wells

Team CCF is currently recruiting runners for this year’s Philadelphia Marathon, Half Marathon, and 8K taking place November 21–22, 2026, as well as the 2027 ASICS Los Angeles Marathon on March 7, 2027.
