Cholangiocarcinoma Awareness Month: Bringing Light to a Rare and Often Misdiagnosed Cancer
WHAT:
February is Cholangiocarcinoma Awareness Month, a time dedicated to raising awareness of cholangiocarcinoma (CCA), a rare but deadly cancer of the bile duct. The Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation (CCF) invites media to cover key awareness initiatives, including landmark buildings lighting up green, patient and caregiver stories, fundraising efforts, and expert-led discussions on research and treatment advances.

CCF is a nonprofit that brings together top experts, patients, and advocates globally. Available for interviews:

- Feb. 20, 4 PM ET – World CCA Day Webinar: “Immunotherapy Innovations: Expert Insights and a Survivor’s Journey” featuring leading experts Dr. Steven Rosenberg of NCI, Dr. Simon Turcotte, Dr. Eric Tran, and survivor Melinda Bachini
- Various Dates – In-person events in Boston, Houston, Nashville, and Seattle connecting patients, caregivers, and researchers. Please check here for specifics.
WHY:
Cholangiocarcinoma is the second most common liver cancer, yet it is frequently misdiagnosed because it originates in the bile duct. With incidence rising, early detection and research are critical. CCF is committed to amplifying patient voices, funding research, and ensuring better diagnostic and treatment options.
